Its been quiet here for a while. Mostly due to the fact that I'm working hard on writing up some chapters of my thesis (some others are already done), while at the same time working on several manuscripts (not all on sirenians).

No time for a longer post today. But in the meantime I leave you with this picture I took at the Florida Museum of Natural History. It shows three dugongid sirenians from the late Oligocene (~26 million years ago) of Florida. These three critters were sympatric (meaning that they lived at the same time/place), which is in stark contrast to what sirenians do today. So what was going on back then?
